Laboratory of Synthetic Inorganic and Materials Chemistry

Our research group is focused on the chemistry and high-technique applications of inorganic and molecular materials. Particular attention is given to the development of novel ligand scaffolds and their metal-containing self-assemblies that show diverse host-guest behaviour and materials properties. Over the years, our group has developed numerous engineered materials endowed with rich electrical properties of ferroelectricity, piezoelectricity, and pyroelectricity, among others, and study their potential for real life applications.

Leveraging cutting-edge instrumentation and computational tools, we probe these non-linear properties, decipher their working mechanisms and unlocking their inherent technological potential. We unravel these intricate physical properties through meticulous characterization and rigorous analysis, leading to their utility in chemical separations, catalysis, and devices for energy and electronic applications.
